DJ Derf

In the 2009-2010 broadcast season on WSJU Radio, DJ Derf celebrated his 150th show on air on WSJU. Other landmark shows would follow, including the 4th and final DJ Derf Christmas Show. In his final semester, DJ Derf had one of the biggest episodes of “The Mix-Master DJ Academy” where he interviewed Dance superstar, Kim Sozzi. A few weeks later, during his final weekend on air, DJ Derf also teamed up with mentor, and legend DJ D-Bo on Saturday April 24th to host WSJU’s first ever LIVE DJ Mixshow, “Club WSJU,” the station’s longest LIVE show on air.

After celebrating a fourth successful season on WSJU Radio with, “Morning Java,” “The Power-Common Hour,” “The Mix-Master DJ Academy,” and dozens of LIVE events hosted around campus, DJ Derf concluded his career at WSJU.

In May of 2010, he signed off WSJU Radio for the final time after 4 years and 175+ shows on air on “The Voice.” Since graduating from St. John’s University, he has began his career working at Sirius-XM Satellite Radio.

DJ Derf still continues to host events for WSJU on campus, and has also returned for the 2nd edition of “CLUB WSJU” on December 11th, 2010 - which can be heard in the iZone.

In 2011, DJ Derf is set to make his debut on Virtual DJ Radio, an Internet Radio Station broadcasting 100% Live DJ Mixes from all around the world. “Stay tuned....”
